Beauty and the Mess yoga pants are changing the game for those riding the wave of athleisure, a comfortable sense of style and apparel more women are embracing these days.

Robin Emmerich, an Austin-based life coach and artist, started the line in August 2017 after she was inspired to create art via clothing while touring a costume gallery in Florence, Italy. But rather than creating costumes, Emmerich took to screen-printing her abstract paintings onto yoga pants.

Her latest entrepreneurial venture echoes a message Emmerich is passionate about: inspiring and empowering women to follow their passions, despite the fear of stepping into the unknown. She envisions her unique clothing designs will enable women to easily spot each other, be that at the gym, while crossing the street or traveling abroad, and use the bond to build a community of like-minded individuals.

“I have this vision of women seeing other women wearing them in the airport,” Emmerich says of the yoga pants. “It’s like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.”

Lightweight and great for travel, the pants can be dressed up with heels and a blazer or dressed down with a tank top and sneakers. And if you’re feeling hesitant about purchasing yet {another} pair of yoga pants, you might be persuaded by the fact that a portion of all profits from the sale of Beauty and the Mess yoga pants goes to Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation program that promotes the health, safety, education and leadership of girls in developing countries.
