Viva La Vida Fest is a cultural and community event in honor and celebration of Mexican icon and legend, Frida Kahlo.
About this event:
Viva la Vida Fest is a new arts & culture festival honoring La Frida like Austin has never seen before!
Join us on Saturday, July 23 from 5PM – 1AM at Lustre Pearl South for a festival packed with live performances, panel discussions, on-site mural activation, live art, gallery wall curation, children’s activities, and an amazing music and DJ lineup.
Viva La Vida Fest will include:
- Mariachi Las Coronelas
- Queer-led Dance Classes
- “Viva la Vida” performances by CreArte Producciones
- Frida Themed Interactive Photo booth by Navarro Photography
- Contribute to our on-site Living Altar
- Come dressed as your favorite Frida painting for a chance to enter our costume contest
- Tribute to Frida Gallery Wall Curated by Monica Ceniceros & Olivia Tamzarian
- Children’s activities curated by Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center
- Mural installation by Raaisin in the Sun
- DJ lineup: DJ Chorizo Funk, DJ Rosez, DJ KickIt, and DJ Super McN4sty
- A special curated Frida Friday ATX market will be on-site showcasing some of Austin’s best BIPOC and Queer artists and small business owners
- The fest will also include a very special panel of leading reproductive and LGBTQIA leaders to discuss the broad impact of recent rulings, and portions of the proceeds will benefit local Reproductive and LGBTQIA orgs.
