“Big Fish, Bigger Pond” Concert Program
November 11, 2022 - November 12, 2022
The Austin Chamber Music Center (ACMC) continues its 2022–2023 Concert Season “Big Fish, Bigger Pond” on November 11 and 12 with a new program, “The New World.” Artistic Director and pianist Dr. Michelle Schumann has programmed composers throughout the season that burst through boundaries to build a style that was wholly unique and unchartered.
The New World takes a deep dive into the convergence of genius and inspiration for composers Dvorak, Bartok, and Stravinsky. The audience will explore cross-cultural influence within Dvorak’s Sonatina in G Major, Bartok’s Contrasts, and Stravinksy’s Suite from L’Histoire du soldat. Performing these works with Schumann are James Shields on clarinet and David Felberg on violin.
