Shalom Austin Hosts Fourth Annual Fundraiser, IGNITE!

Shalom Austin will host its fourth annual fundraising event, IGNITE! on April 18 beginning at 5:15 p.m. IGNITE!, Shalom Austin’s largest fundraising event of the year, brings together the entire community for an opportunity to celebrate achievements, build connections, spark a passion for giving and honor award recipients. IGNITE! provides a great opportunity to learn more about Shalom Austin and how to get involved, the community we serve, and the lives we have forever changed.
To ensure attendees’ safety and comfort, IGNITE! will take place online this year. The entertainment will be appropriate for all ages. Only one ticket needs to be purchased per household.
Debbie and Ricky Rudy will be presented with the 2021 LBJ Humanitarian Award for their leadership and dedication to Shalom Austin and the Austin Jewish community.
The IGNITE program will include celebrity surprises and dining opportunities from local restaurants Olive & June, The Backspace Anderson Lane, and HEB – The Kosher Store.
IGNITE! benefits the Jewish community through the Shalom Austin Annual Campaign, which financially supports the needs of people locally and globally.
- Eighty percent of the campaign dollars support local needs such as Jewish Family Service, senior adult programming, youth and teen services, Early Childhood Program financial assistance, arts and culture, leadership development, adult education, and outreach and engagement.
- Ten percent of the campaign dollars support Israel and overseas through Jewish Federations of North America and our partner agencies, primarily the Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency for Israel.
- Ten percent of the campaign dollars support our local partners such as the Austin Jewish Academy, Anti-Defamation League, Texas Hillel, Texas A&M Hillel, and Chabad at UT.
