Easter Egg Dye-O-Rama

April 2, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Each year, the Neill-Cochran House Museum opens its doors to feature free, hands-on Easter egg dyeing, scavenger hunts, self-paced tours, and (weather permitting) lawn games with space to picnic in the shade. Last year we had to take it online, this year we are back in action with social distancing and other safety protocols for a fun and exciting afternoon.

This year’s installment of Easter Egg Dye-O-Rama features everything visitors need to dye their own real Easter eggs. The event is free and open to the public. Families are welcome to bring their own boiled or blown eggs, or they can purchase them the day of for a small donation. The museum will provide blown (emptied) eggs, dyes, wax resists, tables, chairs, and volunteers to offer help with the process.

While your eggs dry, check out the popular Hope for Spring: The Flower of Texas exhibition featuring local Austin artists. Maybe even take home a piece of original artwork with you. The museum will be open for free. Afterwards, take advantage of our spacious shaded lawn for family picnic.

To ensure the safety of our guests, speakers, and staff at this in-person event, we request that all participate in safe social distancing and wear a mask at all times while on our site. Crowd size will be monitored to ensure social distancing throughout the event. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the event.
