AMPLIFY PAN DULCE: How Do You Set Your Non-Profit Apart from All the Rest on Austin’s Biggest Day of Giving: Purple Conchas, is how.

March 1 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am

Latinitas kicks off its 2019 Amplify Austin campaign at Joe’s Bakery, an iconic venue known for its Tejano cuisine, but also as a meeting place for the “who’s who” of Austin Latino leadership.

This year, Latinitas is raising funds to support its 1st alumni network: Latinitas Por Vida. Joe’s Bakery has agreed to create a signature pan dulce using Latinitas’ purple brand color, to celebrate the East Austin-based non-profit.

Seventeen years old, Latinitas has been empowering all girls to innovate using media and technology through clubs, camps and workshops. Well many of those program attendees are grown up and are working in the digital media and technology sectors, but also STEM fields, education and other leadership roles all over the city of Austin! This year’s Amplify Austin campaign focuses on creating more ways to help Latinitas’ alumni prosper through mentor matches, scholarships, certifications and job placement.

Latinitas’ founder, staff, board, volunteers and some alumni will be at the breakfast aimed at kicking off the raising of $15,000. Right now, 80% of Austin ISD’s incoming kindergarten is Latina – so the future is not only female in Austin, that future is also very Latina!!!  Help Latinitas support the next generation of innovators!

###

Latinitas is dedicated to empowering girls to innovate using media and technology, providing direct digital media and technology training and esteem-boosting services to nearly 3,000 girls and teens across Texas annually, 2,000 in Central and 1,000 more in West and South Texas, New Mexico and recently San Francisco, CA. Latinitas has served over 33,000 girls and teens through after-school clubs, weekend workshops, and teen internships. Additionally, Latinitas offers camps and conferences at 132 Texas schools, libraries, community, and cultural centers, and public housing sites with a focus on cultivating the next generation of innovators.
