WEB DEVELOPER

ATXWoman.com is in need of a web developer! Candidates must be experts in WordPress, skilled communicators and are able to work quickly to meet deadlines. This position is a remote contract role and pay is negotiable. Candidates should expect a few hours of work per week, but the role will be ramping up in the near future as we are currently developing two other websites. Because we are a small company, interns play a vital role in the production of our monthly magazine and quarterly magazine, and they will have the opportunity to gain hands-on training and experience in the publishing world. We are seeking motivated, organized and creative interns to devote at least 10 hours per week to this internship. Duties include researching, interviewing, writing print articles, fact checking, image gathering, generating pitch ideas, generating web content for articles and social media, helping us maintain and update our website and attending events and weekly meetings with the print and digital editors.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent computer, communication and writing skills, thorough attention to detail as well as the ability to work independently and in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment. Familiarity with AP Style, Word, Google docs, WordPress and all social media platforms is a plus. Internships are unpaid, but AW Media can fill academic credit requirements if needed and offers byline credit for published work.
