Last Friday, more than 400 women joined us in celebrating 17 years of Austin Woman at our annual anniversary event. From breakout panels in the morning and an inspiring luncheon panel of past cover women to an after-party at Erin Condren, it was a day full of cheering on Austin women as they take the next step personally and professionally.

In our tradition of honoring a small-business owner in the community, we selected Marsha Stephanson with Cater to Mom as our 2019 grant recipient. This year, we asked our followers who they thought deserved to be recognized and received more than 100 nominations. Our judges had a difficult time narrowing the applicants down to our three finalists: Restart CBD, Alexa James Baby and Cater to Mom.

Stephenson started Cater to Mom after giving birth and discovering she was not equipped with or prepared for the physical and mental toll having a baby had on her body. Her company’s Cater to Mom Postpartum Recovery Box offers a variety of items new moms need in the first few weeks and months after giving birth.

We were proud to recognize Stephanson and the other two finalists during the anniversary luncheon and look forward to what these women will continue to do in and for our community.
