Feel your best with these simple tips, no extra time required.

For many, eating healthy is thought to require too much effort. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Here are five game-changing healthy habits that will make a huge difference in how you look and feel.

  1. Get a water bottle. Invest in a stainless-steel water bottle to keep filtered water on you at all times. Did you know more than 200 million Americans consume water with chromium-6, a cancer-causing chemical? Bonus: If you don’t like the taste of water, flavor it naturally with lemon and orange slices, cucumber, mint, lime, grapefruit, pineapple or berries.
  2. Add protein and fat to breakfast. Stave off energy dips, brain fog and insatiable hunger by adding protein and fat to your morning meal. Unlike the traditional American breakfast of cereal, bagels, muffins or coffee, you’ll be amped up and going strong for hours on end. Try incorporating eggs, wild salmon, grass-fed Greek yogurt or bone broth, avocado oil, raw nuts and seeds, or ghee.
  3. Eat at least two to three servings of greens a day. Popeye was right when he said greens make you stronger. Loaded with a powerhouse of vitamins and minerals, greens are nature’s multivitamin and can also aid in digestion. Unfortunately, only one in 10 Americans gets the recommended three servings a day. Sneak greens into smoothies and juices, and aim for lots of color at mealtimes.
  4. Take a probiotic. Support your gut health and digestion and with a quality probiotic. Your gut is home to trillions of bacteria, both good and bad. In fact, you have 10 times the amount of bacteria as you do cells in your body, and you need to maintain a healthy balance. An overgrowth of bad bacteria can lead to bloating, constipation, irritable bowel ayndrome, allergies, acne and hormonal imbalances. Unfortunately, approximately 95 percent of probiotics sold on shelves don’t contain the probiotics they claim, so how do you choose the right brand? Most of these “fake” formulas are lactic-acid-based formulas, so choose a supplement that is soil-based, like Primal Probiotics, Megaspore Probiotic and Garden of Life Primal Ultra Defense. 5. Keep food on hand. Cooking and meal prepping is great, but it doesn’t always happen. For those times when you are in a rush, organic deli meats, boxed greens, presliced veggies, frozen veggie burgers, bone broth and coconut-flour tortillas can come in handy. Bonus: Keep jerky, Primal Kitchen bars, fruit leather and trail mix in your bag to snack on throughout the day.
