Nasreen Shahi of Hey Nasreen has collaborated with Kendra Scott to create a unique jewelry collection supporting breast cancer research. A collection very personal for Shahi and her family, Kendra Scott x Nasreen Shahi from @heynasreen launched Oct. 2. The collection will give back to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with every purchase.

Hey Nasreen was formed in 2017 after Shahi left her corporate job in 2010 to be a stay-at-home mother to her three children.

“I used it as an outlet to share fashion and beauty advice and tips for the everyday mom,” Shahi explains. “At that time, a lot of the influencers I was following were younger than me, and not something I could personally relate to as much.”

Once Shahi learned that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, Hey Nasreen became the place where she could share her personal journey and receive support. “In the end, it was something that helped carry me through one of the darkest times I’ve ever had.”

Shahi previously worked with the Kendra Scott brand before the introduction to the idea for collaboration. Once Kendra Scott approached Shahi about producing a collection during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, she knew the impact and importance this would provide her and her supporters.

“[Kendra Scott] has a very philanthropic side to them and that really connected with me,” Shahi emphasizes. “To be able to have a collection that my following, best friends, family and I would love to wear, but still be able to give back to the breast cancer community, was just awesome.”

Twenty percent of every piece sold from the Kendra Scott x Hey Nasreen from @heynasreen collection will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Shahi's mother inspired the jewelry, and Shahi named every piece after her. The Ashrafa necklace and bracelet include a cultural element from her Middle Eastern background: the eye of protection. The Mayel necklace and earrings include three stones to represent hope, strength and positivity.

“When people wear it, I want it to be a reminder to have hope, strength and stay positive,” Shahi says. “That’s what has carried me through a hard time.

“When someone goes through breast cancer, it can be very isolating. But there’s something about the breast cancer community that rallies like no other. I’ve never seen anything like it. The meaning behind the collection was to honor that community and everyone that rallied around me and celebrate that.”

A celebration of the launch was held Thursday, Oct. 5 at Kendra Scott Domain in Austin. Patrons visited with Nasreen and shopped the full collection. Readers can still shop the entire collection here.
