’Tis the season for the famed Pumpkin Spice Latte made popular by Starbucks and made healthy by simply swapping some not-so-great ingredients, like refined sugar and carrageenan, with healthy, nutrient-giving alternatives. There are few things that offer more comfort, warmth and all the wintery feels than this delicious and perfectly spiced latte. So, roll up your sweater sleeves and treat yourself to a cup.

Ingredients

1 cup almond milk (preferably homemade, recipe here)

1 tablespoon homemade or canned pumpkin puree

2 teaspoons natural vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 cup organic coffee or espresso

2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup

Organic heavy cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender or use an immersion blender to mix them well.
  2. Heat the drink for approximately five minutes on the stove.
  3. Add whipped heavy cream and don’t forget a dash of cinnamon on top.
